A little about me: I've been posting on various messageboards for nearly 4 years now, and really got interested in development after joining a board that was powered by YaBB SE. It was the first time I'd ever seen that system, and it seemed a lot cooler than anything else I'd seen. I got a board at Boardnation (after trying several other systems) and had a lot of fun with it, actively following YaBB SE development. After deciding that I wanted to have the thrill of modding my board, I left Boardnation, purchased oldiesmann.us and signed up for webhosting. At the time I had a fan site for my favorite band on Tripod.com, and it was gaining in popularity. My board was the only thing on the domain for months, but I modded it out. Of course, with each mod, it got harder to use Boardmod because the code that it was looking for kept changing. I eventually started manually installing mods, and at one point I think I had close to 20 mods installed...
I finally got around to putting up a website (PHP-based of course), and left it up for about three months. Then I found LSP Enigma and put that up instead. I modified it a bit, and really enjoyed the system. I continued following development of YaBB SE, and even updated a couple of older mods. I also got involved with another project called Supermod, which was originally just that - a mod that combined 20 or 30 other mods into one. This eventually developed into its own system, and I went to help out with them for a while, while still following YaBB SE development, looking forward to the future plans of this system. As the plans got more elaborate, I drooled over features that were planned for YaBB SE 1.6 and then the YaBB SE 2.0 which would come after it, and also wondered what [Unknown] was up to with his "secret project". Shortly thereafter, it was decided to start a new project instead of focusing on fixing up YaBB SE, and [Unknown]'s "secret project" eventually developed into SMF. I followed everyone over here from YaBB SE and started thinking of ways I could get involved. Initially I was going to work on starting an integration team that would focus on getting SMF integrated with various portals and CMS's. In April 2003 though, an open call went out for people interested in being on the support team, so I decided to do that instead. I loved helping people, and Joseph thought I'd be perfect for the role since I had been all over the place helping with other projects and knew a lot about YaBB SE. That eventually lead to me becoming a Lead Support Specialist several months ago.
