What do you do on your free time besides spending time on SMF?
High school likes to hit me with assignments.
What are your goals/dreams in life?
To become a good coder, and to help people.
What got you involved in SMF?
I joined a forum that ran SMF. It was the 2.0 RC2 time back then. I got interested in how the software worked and how it was made, so I decided to research that a bit. I first got to SMFForFree, but it lacked features. That's how I got to the real SMF
Who do you admire? Why?
I admire people who are willing to aid others.
Are you into sports? If so which ones?
Nope, but I really should.
What is your dream job?

Not married, and not yet interested in marrying
If so do you have any kids?
No. I'm 18
How many kids?
None.
How many languages do you speak? If so which ones?
I can read (and write some) of Dutch, English, French, Latin, Greek and German. That's 6.
Speaking only English and Dutch, really.

Usually, no. When I do though I get drunk way too easily (and always tip over).
Do you smoke?
No. My parents smoke though so I might, indirectly.
Did you play hookey from class?
My parents were actually fairly generous with this; they'd write notes that I couldn't participate in PE class for example, just because I didn't feel like it. But I didn't just skip class without giving a reason, though.

So on the registration page you said you were over 13 when you joined here?

You're taller than me. That's just unacceptable. I will have to take some sort of action against you, my friend.

Possible that I didn't fill in any age, though, because I believe I filled it in later on.
(might have looked different back then though, I don't remember when the registration page was updated to this ugly one)
Not that I'm judging anyone. I was 12 when I signed on, and just over 13 when I got on the team.
Quote from: Marcus Forsberg on May 11, 2012, 10:33:50 AMMeh, possible that I just ignored that. Oh well, I dunno. I'm 13 now so who cares?

Well, if we start to count on that; we'd have to say then;
1- HTML is not a programming language; as refered in its name, its just a mark-up language.
2- JavaScript is not a programming language either, again as refered in name, its a scripting language
3- CSS is not a programming language either; see the name again..
4- AJAX is definitly not a language, it's better called a set of JS methods and libraries.
Accordingly the only programming language counted in the list is PHP; besides it's being counted in scripting languages at some places.
Whatever, I guess our young friend has a long way to go; but being eager and having enough opportunities he's getting fast to where he likes. Still worth to appreciate though.
Being a scripting language doesn't stop it being a programming language provided it means the criteria for being a programming language, which ultimately comes down to 'does it have variables, can it jump around and can it create loop conditions' and both JS and PHP satisfy.
Decrying it as a scripting language instead of a programming language is like trying to argue that a truck is not a vehicle, because your idea of a vehicle is a car.
The definition of a scripting language really comes down to the fact that it is interpreted not compiled, but it doesn't prevent either from being actual programming languages. Heck, you can actually write a web*server* in JavaScript.

I said "if we start to count on that".. I don't personally think JS is not a programming language. Furthermore, its being a programming language doesn't affect others being not.

I'm very fast to tell people when they are wrong. JS is in any way you care to slice it, a programming language.
There are people who have written complete PC emulators in JavaScript (capable of running Linux in the browser and nothing else), so no matter how much you think it isn't, it is a programming language.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JavaScript
JavaScript (sometimes abbreviated JS) is a prototype-based scripting language that is dynamic, weakly typed, general purpose programming language and has first-class functions. It is a multi-paradigm language, supporting object-oriented,[5] imperative, and functional[1][6] programming styles.

Keeps BSODing and crapping.
IIRC, BSOD are caused mainly due to faulty drivers or hardware?
Never had a BSOD on my own computers tho, however on two separate occasions the the motherboard and video card both died lol.

By reinstalling drivers some occasions have stopped and sometimes the thing runs really stable but it's annoying when it's unstable.
Maybe loose memory or dirty connectors, lets hope though.
The worst I had was a computer that would always reboot when it got a little bit hot. The problem with it was that before I had finished putting the computer together all the way, my siblings decided to use it. Will it had no heat sink on the CPU.

I was in a coma for two months after a car decided to knock me off my motorbike.
Oddly enough, I was doing about 20mph at the time. This, on a bike that could go from 0 mph to 60 mph(96kph) in 1.3 seconds. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_TuoMWklyI&feature=related
Speed's a funny thing, though, Yosh.
When I use to ski, I suspect that I must've gone over 100kph, a few times.
It was phun, rather than being scary.

Depends on the vehicle you are using. Because on some cars, it's fun and a lot comfortable to go over 200 kmh, but on some others, if you speed over 100 kmh, you will think that it's gonna blow to the space.
Quote from: Elmacik on July 02, 2012, 06:53:09 AMI don't think it is going to explode, I just have an odd feeling with it.

I prefer to FEEL the speed I'm doing. I feel much safer, then.
In many ways, I think it's bad that you can drive a car, now, without having to do bikes, first, like you used to.
Bikes give you a better feel for just how bloody dangerous the roads really are and car-drivers are somewhat cosseted, from that.

No, I don't mean the supposition of explosion. It's very uncomfortable, insecure and weird to speed with some vehicles. That is; I can speed over 200 kmh and enjoy it, but on some cars, if you speed over 100 kmh, it will make you feel like you are at mach 3 speed; so insecure and uncomfortable; therefore scary like it will get scattered so fast.
Scary is good.
It's supposed to be like that because speed IS dangerous.
As I said, I spent two months in a coma. I actually died, at one point.
Speed might be fun, yes. But, it does kill.

Yeah couldn't agree more. But I still insist on saying being how much scary depends on the vehicle you are driving.
I still find myself terrified of driving my own scooter since I hurt my leg and arm a year ago. And that only reaches 45km/h. Riding on the back of my friend's moped when he was driving in over 90km/h however... that was great fun! And greatly idiotic, too.

Yes, you're right.
What I'm contending, is that having speed without "scary", is what's killing people.
If going fast makes you scared, as it should, you wouldn't do it.
Speed itself doesn't kill, it's the rapidity of stopping suddenly that kills
But when people are 'comfortable' with being very very fast and there is familiarity with it, familiarity breeds contempt, and people who have contempt for something tend not to give it the healthy respect it deserves...

Quote from: Elmacik on July 02, 2012, 07:02:52 AMIt's not like our car doesn't feel uncomfortable, I just do not feel secure in *any* car. That's just me. It's not scary as "Oooooh that's freaky" but more like "HOLY CRAP I'M GONNA TURN ROUND WITH THIS THING", with me.

Conclusion is, feeling the speed is very much scary than the speed itself. Relative speed
