I joined a forum that ran SMF. It was the 2.0 RC2 time back then. I got interested in how the software worked and how it was made, so I decided to research that a bit. I first got to SMFForFree, but it lacked features. That's how I got to the real SMF

My parents were actually fairly generous with this; they'd write notes that I couldn't participate in PE class for example, just because I didn't feel like it. But I didn't just skip class without giving a reason, though.

Being a scripting language doesn't stop it being a programming language provided it means the criteria for being a programming language, which ultimately comes down to 'does it have variables, can it jump around and can it create loop conditions' and both JS and PHP satisfy.

Decrying it as a scripting language instead of a programming language is like trying to argue that a truck is not a vehicle, because your idea of a vehicle is a car.

The definition of a scripting language really comes down to the fact that it is interpreted not compiled, but it doesn't prevent either from being actual programming languages. Heck, you can actually write a web*server* in JavaScript.

Never had a BSOD on my own computers tho, however on two separate occasions the the motherboard and video card both died lol.

I'll have it checked next week, I'm thinking my memory is damaged (random memory-heavy apps keep crashing too). I need it too much right now.

By reinstalling drivers some occasions have stopped and sometimes the thing runs really stable but it's annoying when it's unstable.

Maybe loose memory or dirty connectors, lets hope though.

The worst I had was a computer that would always reboot when it got a little bit hot. The problem with it was that before I had finished putting the computer together all the way, my siblings decided to use it. Will it had no heat sink on the CPU.

Well the one dog is a cross between a labrador and a border collie as we call it, he's plain black, and I don't know about the cat and the other dog, but the cat is black and white, the other dog is brown with white and black tints. Well, I had an almost-accident a long while back while on the highway, I can still describe the moment in detail but I'd rather not now. Anyhow I get bloody nervous and sometimes crazy if we get above the speed of 100 km/h...

Depends on the vehicle you are using. Because on some cars, it's fun and a lot comfortable to go over 200 kmh, but on some others, if you speed over 100 kmh, you will think that it's gonna blow to the space.

In many ways, I think it's bad that you can drive a car, now, without having to do bikes, first, like you used to.

No, I don't mean the supposition of explosion. It's very uncomfortable, insecure and weird to speed with some vehicles. That is; I can speed over 200 kmh and enjoy it, but on some cars, if you speed over 100 kmh, it will make you feel like you are at mach 3 speed; so insecure and uncomfortable; therefore scary like it will get scattered so fast.

Scary is good.

It's supposed to be like that because speed IS dangerous.

As I said, I spent two months in a coma. I actually died, at one point.

Yeah couldn't agree more. But I still insist on saying being how much scary depends on the vehicle you are driving.

I still find myself terrified of driving my own scooter since I hurt my leg and arm a year ago. And that only reaches 45km/h. Riding on the back of my friend's moped when he was driving in over 90km/h however... that was great fun! And greatly idiotic, too.

Yes, you're right.

What I'm contending, is that having speed without "scary", is what's killing people.

If going fast makes you scared, as it should, you wouldn't do it.

Speed itself doesn't kill, it's the rapidity of stopping suddenly that kills

But when people are 'comfortable' with being very very fast and there is familiarity with it, familiarity breeds contempt, and people who have contempt for something tend not to give it the healthy respect it deserves...

It's not like our car doesn't feel uncomfortable, I just do not feel secure in *any* car. That's just me. It's not scary as "Oooooh that's freaky" but more like "HOLY CRAP I'M GONNA TURN ROUND WITH THIS THING", with me.

Conclusion is, feeling the speed is very much scary than the speed itself. Relative speed

Great! I was doing stuff with Visual Basic before, but 1. the IDE got me frustrated and 2. I liked web development more.

Back then, I was stuck on Win 3.1 + VB 3.0. The biggest and best app I wrote was a file manager, simply because the default one provided in Windows sucked.

When I was writing code, VB didn't exist. I don't think it did because I never heard of it. These kids have it easier now though with their fancy GUI's and internet.

Don't be ashamed, if I still had access to most of my old code I wouldn't mind sharing most of it. Sometimes it surprises me with code I written a few years back. Sometimes your young self can re-teach your older self some things.
