Simple Machines Documentation Help Squad
September 01, 2010, 06:48:08 PM Posted by Acans on September 01, 2010, 06:48:08 PM in Simple Machines Documentation Help Squad | 18 CommentsG'day mates ,
The documentation help squad is a group of dedicated community members that work with the Documentation Team as well as several other Team Members to produce the SMF Online Manual (OM). The Online Manual is one of the largest viewed resources of the Simple Machines site, with a staggering 48 MILLION hits! The Doc Team and Doc Helpers work together to keep the OM updated to it's highest standard.
For some time, the Doc Helpers group was more exclusive because we shared ideas and plans that the community didn't need to know. Because of this, only a few people where around to support the OM, however the Doc Helpers group is now fully open to anybody wishing to join!
"What can the Doc Helpers do?" you ask. Simply put - anything! The Doc Helpers can create new documents, update older ones, or just proof read and help other members finalize their docs.
Is there anything BIG being worked on? Of course.
Currently, the Doc Helpers are working with the Doc and Site Teams, as well as several other Team Members and SMF friends to create a Wiki! We are currently porting all the documents from the Online Manual to the new wiki, to start updating them to be compatible with SMF 2.0 as it comes closer to gold.
If you wish to be apart of the doc helpers, just navigate to (Profile > Modify Profile > Group Membership) or use my shortcut.
Thanks,

Hey, good to see this being brought up again.
What about an international OM?
Nice to see you in the Doc Team (at first i didn't even know who the hell you was ).

The Wiki being worked on WILL be international, with the option to select your language.
Because anybody will be able to edit the wiki, this means the translators or anybody who can translate or write documents in their native languages will be able too.
I'm not up-to-date on the international side of the wiki, Groundup or GravuTrad will know more about this.
(And yes, I changed my display name and avatar, however knowing me, I might change it back to Acans.)

...Team Members to produce the SMF Online Manual (OM). ...
There's a typo in your link...you don't need the "www."
Also, on the OM page, there's a problem with the logos and the top menu...at least when viewed in FF v3.6.8.
Fixed the link issue.
The logo's look fine in Chrome, can you please post a screenshot as all as any additional information in the Site Comments board.

Please don't take offense to this but you need to spell check before you reply publicly if you're going to be on the Documentation Team.

Should be: It's ok, you've already done your fair share.
Yeah it's a bad habit jumping the gun like that.
Thanks Jade.
Thanks Jade.
No problem .
You're probably thankful you don't have me as a leader anymore. I'm brutal in a loving way .

Forgot the apostrophe in your correction. its would be it's because it's a contraction.
Thanks Live627.
