Monthly Dev Update
May 20, 2017, 10:54:46 PM Posted by Colin on May 20, 2017, 10:54:46 PM in Monthly Dev Update | 5 CommentsHello everyone!
Our developers, development contributors and contributors have made great progress with SMF 2.1 so far. We hope SMF 2.1 Beta 3 will be released fairly soon (as well as SMF 2.0.15, which will include bug fixes).
Regarding 2.1 some recent improvements and changes are:- Added reCAPTCHA as core feature to keep spammers away.
- Upgrade.php code clean-up. Now the upgrade process should be more consistent.
- RSS general improvements.
- Added support for jQuery 3.x.
- Modified Curve2 to improve the responsiveness of the design.
- General bug fixes, code improvements, and clean-up.
- Default codification will now be UTF-8.
Thanks to the decreasing number of outstanding issues with 2.1, we are looking to prepare it for RC in the near future. This development means that it is unlikely that new features will be added.
We would like to thank all of our contributors helping out in the SMF 2.1 GitHub repository, and all other community members who are willing to help. Keep up the good work!Comments

Thanks to you Colin, for letting us know where SMF 2.1 is at the moment, and where it is heading. It really helps keep us 'hopeful' and focused on the future.
I really love SMF~!
