Hello SMF Users,

There have been a few changes to SMF's personnel lately, as well as a few developments regarding the software, so we are taking the opportunity to highlight the current team leads, new team members, and forthcoming updates.

These are the current team leaders:

  • Illori, Project Manager
  • Colin, Lead Developer
  • br360, Lead Support Specialist
  • Gary, Lead Customizer
  • Irisado, Doc Coordinator
  • Dzonny, Lead Localizer
New members to have joined the Team:

Owing to their excellent contributions to the community, we have invited several new members to the Team over the last few months, specifically: Sesquipedalian (Developer), Steve (Support Specialist), Shawnb61 (Support Specialist) and Gwenwyfar (Customizer). We are also happy to announce that former team member and Project Manager Suki has rejoined the Team as a Customizer.

As you know, we are always looking for potential new team members, so if any of you wish to emulate these new recruits, we would encourage you to do so by providing support to those who need it and making constructive contributions to the community in any way in which you can.

Software updates:

Now that 2.0.15 has been released, we are looking ahead to the release of a new SMF 2.1 version, which we hope will happen as soon as possible. Our team and contributors are working hard on GitHub and there are only a few outstanding issues which need to be resolved before the next version is released. If you would like to know more about this, please visit our last Developer's Blog post.

One of the features included in 2.0.15 is SM Stat Collection, which allows the Simple Machines Team to have a record of many useful technical specifications that could help us with future releases. We would like to encourage all forum administrators to activate this new feature by going to the following section of the Admin Panel (Configuration > Server Settings > General). If you want to know more about the information which will be collected, please click here.

That's all for now. Happy Holidays!
